Still busy crocheting.  I'm adding a few things to the shop.  Well, so far, i've only listed a couple of things.  Taking and editing pics take forever!  But, here it is, the Snowdrift Collection:

All Snowdrift cowls come in 30 beautiful colors and are all going to be Ready to Ship items.  I handmade each one in my new and unique pattern using soft and thick wool blend yarn.

M.I.A. ... but just for a little while

I know, i've been missing in action for a while now.  I have been busy making SweetEDGE orders for a few fam and friends.  I will be posting again.  I have new items (loose-knit and tight-knit scarves) and chunky hats to add to the shop.  I just need another photo session with my mannequin and i'll post the pics here :)

By the way, thank you to Shannon for featuring my scarf that I made for their cowl knit along on her blog,  Here's the link:  check it ouuuut ... har har... we're both Canadians :)

Flowers & Stripes

I've been making baby hats this past week to sell at my etsy shop.  I love stripes!  I made a few hats with stripes of different widths.  The navy blue and white one below is double knit.  I will be making more of those with different color combinations for baby/toddler boys and the ones with the thinner stripes will be for the girlies, of course, embellished with a big, bright and colorful flower.

My favorite color combo:  navy blue and white and bright pink :)

I will also be selling fitted baby hats in solid color with a floral/bow embellishment.

New Shop Items

I added a few more items to my etsy shop:  Headband/ear-warmer embellished with a big crocheted flower ($21.50 USD) and ones with a big heart accent ($21USD).  I also lowered my prices on my Big Bow Headband/Ear-warmers from $24USD to $22USD.  All my items are customizable :)

A Chunky Slightly Slouchy Newsboy Hat for Me!

I guess the post title says it all...  Made this hat with Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn in Dallas Gray and a 9mm crochet hook.

Knit/Crochet Along Cowl Scarf... Done!

This is the finished cowl scarf I crocheted for's Carefree Cowl Knit Along.  I love this scarf.  I made it short enough so when I loop it twice around my neck, it hugs it perfectly, not too tight, not too loose.  Check out this and other cowl scarves on this knit along flickr page.

The Carefree Cowl Knit Along! I'm in!

I am so in! and Nook started a knit along for cowl scarves.  I saw the post 2 days ago and I started on my scarf right away.  I've been planning to make a cowl scarf for moi anyways, so this knit along is a good motivational push to start it.  I crocheted my cowl using tunisian crochet.  I started with doing honeycomb stitch, a stitch that I use for my earwarmers that I sell on my etsy shop.  Love this stitch, but I wanted to try something different.  I ended up doing the whole cowl in tunisian arrowhead stitch.
Tunisian Honeycomb Stitch

For this project, I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in Plum Perfect and an 8mm tunisian hook.  I love tunisian crochet!  This was a pretty easy project and was so much fun to do.  I simply crocheted a long scarf and sewed the edges together.  I will post pictures of the finished cowl on my next post and on luvinthemommyhood ravelry group thread and their flickr group.

Craft Fair Update.... :(

We will not be participating in the craft fair.... bummer!  We didn't get to reserve our own booth/space for this year.  But, that's okay.  I will still be going to check out all of the other artisans there who will be selling their handmade creations.
The crocheted bows i was going to sell at the fair will be available for purchase on my etsy store.

Craft Fair... Woohooo!

I haven't done any sewing lately.  Since I am a newbie to dressmaking, I like to take some time in preparing and constructing a sewing project... and I just didn't have enough time for it.  But, I have been crocheting this past week because... this Saturday, some of the ladies from church and I will be participating in our town's craft fair!  It's my first time to sell my stuff at a fair, so i'm super excited.  I didn't really have a lot of  time to get ready for it, but i did manage to make a few hair bows/clips, ear warmers and kids' hats.  I will be selling these items on etsy as well.  Check them out.

Knock Off: Chiffon Cardi

I am a big fan of Winter Kate Clothing.  I especially love the Ginger Cardigan/Bed Jacket because of the simplicity and versatility of the design.

I believe this Winter Kate Cardigan retailed for about $300.  $300?!  That's a lot of fabric.  I like the jacket in different colors and patterns, and since I like quality AND quantity, I just made my own.  This one cost me $7/yard and used about 1 1/3 yard.  I have a stash of chiffon that I bought recently.  I want to try to make some with different sleeve lengths.

Red Floral Dress is Done!

Yipee!  Finally found some time last night to finish this dress.  The sewing pattern is a pretty simple shift dress pattern, but it took me a while to do this because the fabric (rayon) was pretty hard to work with.  The dress, although it has darts on the sides, is pretty shapeless.  So, I would only wear it with a belt, like so.
